A fully automated modern tea-making machine with traditional recipe and values of our culture.This machine will have the capacity to make up to six cups in just a few minutes. The machine will be able to store the ingredients (i.e., tea leaves, milk, sugar and water) in separate internal compartments. The compartment for milk will be detachable to allow the user to refrigerate the milk, if required. Like the high-end coffee machines available in the market, the tea-making machine will be able to take in the stored ingredients as and when required. Once the tea is made, it will be able to keep it warm. Once the user has finished the tea, the machine will start an automated cleaning process to clean the internal components used while making tea, eliminating the need to wash any utensils. All of this will happen with JUST ONE CLICK of a button from the user.

Project Objectives

Our Final Year Project, currently in development, is a machine to fill the void of modernization of South Asian Kitchens and specifically the process of making tea.

Our main goal is to create modern machines to help modernize our kitchens. Products that will do what we do already but with automation. Not machines like a blender or coffee maker but rather things that work in our traditional kitchen and do things the way we do them but automatically and with one-click.

Project Implementation Method

This project is both hardware and software based and everything is done by the four of us, and we have used microcontroller, sensors, electronics, and our intelligently designed algorithm to do everything in a nice manner.

We have used atmega2560 micro controller with alot of sensors and transistors to make this work.

Benefits of the Project

The Sub-continental kitchen has been in dire need of an upgrade for decades. We still use older and tedious methods of cooking in our kitchen even though all the other aspects of our lives have modernized.

Let us discuss Tea, for example. Tea is a part of our culture and in most households, it's prepared up to three to four times a day. The process is quite tedious as it makes a mess that requires someone to clean it up and requires the presence of a person throughout the process as well. Not to mention, it's difficult to keep the taste and other properties consistent because of the nature of its recipe. The traditional method for making tea is arcane and in dire need of an upgrade. Hence, our machine will turn all of this work into just one click. You press one button and go about your business and get tea in a minute.

Before someone confuse our machine with some electric kettle, we would to explain the whole process of Chai making, this machine will make Chai with our traditional recipe which is to take water first boil it, put calculated sugar and tea in it and boil it again, then put milk in it, and all of this process will be done by machine itself, A user won't have to do anything from putting ingredients to cleaning utensils of machine everything will be done by the machine itself.

One a side not, what electric kettle made is not our traditional tea it is known as British Tea and it is not our tea.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Our machine will have a current rating of 1500 Watts maximum with 220 Voltage.

Our machine will have a LCD display for user to interact.

Everything will be programmed in atmega2560 microcontroller.

Every material that is being used in this machine is Safe for human use as we are using stainless steal for the main heater block and Plastic for storing water and milk.

Total power consumption of this machine is 0.1 Units of electricity for 6 cups of tea preperation.

Our Final product will be designed and printed on a PCB to make it work and look professional.

Circuit of this machine is designed for efficency in every possible way.

One a side note, Everything of this machine is designed by 4 students of COMPUTER SCIENCE without any help of any Electrical Engineering Deparment or personell, From Heating Block Design to PCB circuit design we have gone way above our degree taught education by self learning and hard work.
