Project Summary

The project pertains to development of an augmented reality-based tourist app. People will no longer need a guider to take them to different point of interests and tell them about POI’s detail, through this app tourist will be able to know about every POI’s around them and also it’s detail like description , other people review about it and distance ( from his/ her current location ) and suitable convince to be used to get there and best timing to visit that particular POI’s , later on after reaching at POI’s if there will be some history related stuff there he can just check out detail of that stuff by just scanning the name of that object . It will also help the tourist to check all the nearby hotel, motel and hospital etc. from his location.

Project Objectives

Showing the Distance of User from Particular POI
 User is going to open our app through his smart phone, it will ask for the permission  of using camera of his smart phone. After opening his camera, then he/she is going to direct his/her smart phone’s camera towards POI. User will see different markers of particular points of interest i.e. building, there will be Icon beside that marker which will show the User his/her distance from that particular POI in Yards or Meter.

Checking the name and brief intro of POI
When using this app, user will be shown different markers on particular points of interest i.e. building, User will then tap on that marker and he/she will be shown a description bar where name of that place and brief intro will be given.

 Checking other People Review about POI
When the User tap on a marker, he/she will be shown a description bar where name of that place and brief intro will be given ,beside that, there will be an icon for Reviews, User will tap on that icon and he will see all the comments people gave about that place i.e. can share their experience of visiting that place.

Asking for Direction to that POI
After a User tap on a destination marker, he/she will be shown a description bar where name of that place and brief intro will be given, beside it there will be Icon of Arrow (for getting Direction), User will tap on that icon and he will be directed to that place .

 Tagging up a Personal POI
 User is going to open our app through his smart phone, our app will ask for the permission of using camera of smart phone than he/she is going to point his/her smart phone in desired direction where his personal belonging he/his is, after that there will be icon (PTag) on left side of the Screen ,User will tap on that icon and a marker will appear on that Personal POI, Later on when he/she will want to relocate his/her personal belonging ,there will be icon on left side of smart phone screen to (RPTag), he /she will tap on that icon and he/she will be directed to his/her tagged personal belonging through Augmented Reality based Arrows.

Live Comments
User will be able to check the live comments of the other user by tapping the icon of Live comments , User will also be able to put his/her comments for asking any question or giving his/her general opinion about any thing.

Project Implementation Method

The project will be implemented in Unity Environment and Visual studio , We will be applying Artificial intelligence techniques and Machine learning Algorithms , We will use different languages and tools for App development ( Mobile App ) , We will use Augment reality SDKs like ARCore and MapBox etc. to implement AR features , We will be using Cellphones Camera , GPS features

2. Tourist will have all the relevant features simulated in one single app which will help him/her during his journey

       3. As we are keeping in mind to promote tourism in our   Pakistan, so through this app we will attract more tourists in Pakistan which will not only improve the Pakistan image Infront of the world but will also help in Pakistan economy stability.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

We are going to develop an augment reality based tourist app which will have many different features like you are at particular location it will tell you about POI’s you should visit and all the relevant details about those POI’s on the basis of which tourist can decide where he should go . Later on after reaching to that particular POI’s if there are some historical stuff tourist will scan the name of that stuff and get to know all the relevant detail about it, after completing its tour he / she can find all the relevant places he/ she wants to go like hotel, motel etc. throughout app. In short, our App will act like a guider and a map for a tourist
