Project Area of Specialization Augmented and Virtual RealityProject SummaryThis project is an android application based on augmented reality (AR) for learning purpose of grade 1 students of Pakistan.This application will contain 3D models and animations through which we can explain specific topics of textbooks specifically we are taking NATIONAL TEXTBOOKS OF PAKISTAN: MATHEMATICS, and ENGLISH Grade 1. Students of grade 1 will be able to interact with this application to explore their topics related content in Augmented reality environment. This app will also conduct the Assessment/Quiz in the form of animations in order to track the progress that how much the students has learned. Then their progress report can be accessed by their parents.
Project Objectives- The students will become more interested in studying by interacting the textbook related content in 3D experience with the help of their parents guidance.
- students can learn from anywhere at any time without investing their money.
- Teachers in schools can use this application to conduct class activity in which he/she can explain the topics to students in a real environment.
- This proposed system will also conduct a Assessment in order to assess how far the students have progressed and how much they have learned. Their parents can then view their progress report.
This project plays a vital role in our society. Especially the features that we have included in it which work not only for students in home but helpful for the teachers at school to enhance students learning, this project will be successful in whole country bacause of (Single National Curriculum(SNC). Our system will have up-to-date techniques, technologies, and application features which include several modules in this system,
Module: Authentication system first module is an authentication system for users (parents/teahers) by which they can get towards homepage.
Module: Topic in AR envionment: This module will let the user to explore the textbook’ topics in AR environment.
Module: Overlay Video/3D Model This module will enable to use the application to overlay videos/3D model on the camera via AR.
Module: Assessment This module cotains the Assessment/Quiz feature, where the kids can give their Quiz after learning a lesson.
Module: Progress Monitering This module cotains the dashboard feature, where the parents can track their kids progress based on the assessment.
Benefits of the ProjectThe proposed application will be helpful specifically for Grade 1 Students of Pakistan. They will be interacting with digital content related to their textbook content; this app will explain specific topics of books especially we are taking National textbooks of Pakistan i.e
Mathematics and English. In this way, the students will start taking an interest in learning. This application will be playing a major role in the education area,where students by staying at home can increase their learning capability.Moreover, whatever the student has learned then this proposed project will also conduct the Assessment/Quizs inorder to track the progress that how much the students has learned. Then their progress report can be accessed by their parents.This application will be very helpful in those situations if any emergency has occurred in the country and the students aren’t able to go to schools or you can consider the COVID-19 situation, where schools were closed and the online sessions were conducted.So, in such situations, this proposed application will be playing a major role in the education area, where students by staying at home can increase their learning capability.
The final deliverable of " Augmented Reality based kids learning" will be an android-based application along with documentation manual having all technical details of the application. It will be developed in Unity (C#) along with Firebase database. We will create a vuforia database that will contain all target images, then we will integrate all 3Dmodels/2D Videos related to book’ chapters in AR environment within our andorid application.
