Augmented reality is a branch of computer science which deals with the superimposition of computer related virtual data with environmental real objects. In early days, if we, users, wanted to buy furniture objects without visiting the shops, it was possible, but it was not possible to check how the object looks in home structure. We had to buy the furniture and then we used to bring it to the desired location and then we used to get a look of the furniture in desired place. But in our proposed solution we have altered this hierarchy in which user first get the whole idea of the furniture that which furniture model will suit his place. FurnishIT is an application where a user cannot only buy the furniture objects sitting in the home without visiting the shops, rather user can also interactively move furniture objects using our application without actually having to arrange the furniture in the home which is a highly tedious task. For the convenience of the user and to make application more reliable and user-friendly marker less approach is used while developing this application. FurnishIT is a cross-platform application integrated with a website where user can superimpose 3D models of furniture in his room, apartment, or office. User can have a view of the furniture virtually superimposed in real environment without even buying it. The main purpose of the project is to develop an android application for trying different furniture in a virtual way.

Project Objectives

The application developed will allow vendors and customers to meet on an online store. The user can see different furniture items and how they look and fit in their space by placing them and seeing them through their camera. The vendors can ask to make furniture models and be added in the application. In this way the user can purchase the item of choice and purchase it from online store. 
If the functionalities and resources are increased the vendors can be increased and so will the customers. We will need more developers and designers to make things more user friendly and to add more functionalities. More models will have to be made with the increase in vendors so more designers will be of great help.

Project Implementation Method

App is developed in unity because our objective was to develop a cross platform application. Unity is a platform to develop application that is cross platform quite easily and is convenient for implementing augmented reality techniques. 
SDK For AR:
AR SDK is basically an engine that let the application to adopt augmented reality. There are three type of AR SDK available. 
ARCore
ARKit
Vuforia Fusion
All the above mentioned have their own pros and cons but we opted Vuforia Fusion.
Vuforia Fusion
The main feature of Vuforia fusion is that it supports both android and iOS. As our objective was to develop a cross platform application so Vuforia fusion was quite feasible in implementing an augmented reality application.
The other main reason for opting Vuforia fusion was that every smartphone that has rearview camera and support AR support Vuforia fusion. As our application is camera based so there will be no burden at the user end to get a high-end smartphone. Any smartphone that has rearview camera and supports AR can use this application.

Benefits of the Project

As discussed earlier our product is for everyone. From home to offices and big enterprises everybody needs new furniture every now and then. The vendors will be able to sell their furniture by linking their websites to our app and we will make for them the models. The customers can use this app to look how the furniture fits and looks in their space and then they will be redirected to the online stores where they can purchase and the furniture will be delivered at their door steps. As the time passes our customers and vendors will increase and the platform becomes bigger and bigger.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The test cases above indicate that what the user did and what was the expected output and the actual output. As each of the test case show the results, they are passed. This means the feature is working fine on different devices. The application although works on VF supported devices. The results also indicate how different interface features are working.
