ASIR is a low cost, wearable insulin pump for type 1 diabetics. It is aimed to provide diabetics the ease of mind as not to worry of their next insulin injection,and not worry about insulin fluctuations by providing continous insulin throughout the day.

Project Objectives

To make a cost effective, compact, easy and safe to use insulin pump, available to type 1 diabetics. 

Project Implementation Method

The housing has been 3d modeled and printed such to fit existing syringes available in the market. The system consists of a housing, a piston to depress the syringe, the circuitry(feedback, motor, and control system),and a BMS, controlled via a smartphone app.

Benefits of the Project

ASIR will provide a low cost solution for type 1 diabetics. It will negate the worry of their next insulin injection,and not worry about insulin fluctuations by providing continous insulin throughout the day.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

A belt wearable, device that is capable of delivering multiples of 0.25uL/hr of insulin, with less than 5% error (FDA specified), that is reliable in both battery timing and safety.
