Project Summary

We are entering an era where billions of devices will be able to collect and transmit data via the internet, and these devices are known as IoT devices. A smart camera is an example of an IoT device.

Smart cameras combine a camera with image processing and machine vision programs all in one package.

On the other side, Robotics is the intersection of science, engineering, and technology that produces machines, called robots, that substitute for (or replicate) human actions.

Saving human life and providing security to the same both are two different aspects but both of them are essential and instead mandatory:

In our society, we endanger human life by hiring security agents.

We have designed a robot having smart camera as an eye. It can be controlled through our smart phone.

It is a sort of human replacement which is controlled by human itself. Areas where human cannot be sent or life of human is endangered, robots can be used in such cases.

Project Objectives

This is a spy robot that can recognize human faces and can detect the intruder.

The goal is to use a model-based approach to improve security checks using facial recognition to make the camera smart and use it as the eye of a robot.

The ability to recognize and remember.

To detect and identify an intruder.

Represents a key element to improve human-robot interaction in service robots.

Several approaches have been proposed for face recognition.

Controlled camera rotation through mobile phone.

Robot movement can be controlled through mobile app.

MAIN POINTS/ISSUES PROJECT COVERS:

As previously we have discussed that cameras are not moveable they cannot follow a person or an object but if we use it as the eye of a robot then it can become moveable.

We cannot go to some places but the robot can go there. By delegating dangerous tasks to a robot, you’re more likely to look at a repair bill than a serious medical bill or a lawsuit. Employees who work in dangerous jobs will be thankful that robots can remove some of the risks.

Project Implementation Method

We have designed a robot-base in which camera is attached.

There is a servo motor attached on a base, by which we can rotate camera up to 180 degree angle.

IP Cameras: ESP programmable cameras.

Embedded Programming : C++, RUST.

Arduino Boards: Arduino UNO, Arduino mini.

Other Electric boards: FTDI boards, H-Bridge Motor Driver, Bluetooth sensor HC-o5.

Cables: Arduino cables.

Breadboards (generic)

4WD Smart Robot Car Chassis Kit

LED (generic)

Resisters 221 ohm and Jumper wires

Lipo Battery 12V.

Benefits of the Project

It is a spy robot that can recognize human faces and can detect the intruder.

It can be controlled through a mobile phone.

We can see everything on our smart device’s screen that the robot sees, by accessing the IP address of the camera {robot eye}.

The camera can be rotated at a 180° angle, by which we can see the left and right side of the robot as well for surveillance.

There is an extra camera on its backside which helps for surveillance at back

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

SO WHAT IF WE COMBINE BOTH SMART CAMERA AND ROBOT?

An Ultimate machine will be found which has the qualities of both technologies.

So this is our main idea to combine both technologies to fill gaps in each other.
