Project Title

Arduino Based Ultrasonic Radar for Unauthorized Object Detection

Project Area of Specialization Artificial IntelligenceProject Summary

Radar is an object detection system that uses electromagnetic waves to recognize the range, elevation, path, or speediness of both moving and fixed objects such as aircraft, ships, motor Vehicles, weather formations etc. The Ultrasonic RADAR for object detection, distance and angle measurement, aim of this project is to sense any fixed or moving object which is in the range of ultrasonic sensor and to calculate the distance of that object from the system, also measure the angle of the moving object. The angle and distance will be showed on the real time LCD display. Basically, The Radar Project is very useful for finding an object and they are widely used in navigation based systems and also they are used in the security-based system. In this project, we have used ultrasonic sensor which prevents unauthorized access. We propose to simulate this concept using ultrasonic technology. Our system consists of ultrasonic sensor radar that rotates constantly at 180 degrees. The radar constantly emits ultrasonic rays and measures reflection. On detecting reflection from any object within its range the radar stops and sends a signal. The radar also sends the angle at which the object was identified. It operates by radiating electromagnetic energy and detecting the echo returned from reflecting objects (targets).

Project Objectives
  1. To detect the fixed or moving object.
  2.  To measure the distance of the object from the system.
  3.  To measure the speed of the moving object.
  4. In defence line it can be easily implemented in border line and when any interrupt created through across this range then it send alert to soldiers and it create protection from attackers.
  5.  It can be used Detection and Tracking targeting any obstacles or unknown material without creating any disturbance and even in night and in fog.
  6. In Vehicle parking system or the reducing the traffic on the road, this sensor can be useful on vehicle parking system.
  7. In banking and jewellery shops for unauthorized access from thieves.
  8. The data captured by RADAR systems can be used to map an area and provide 3D images of the area based on the varying angles of return.
Project Implementation Method

We will acquire ultrasonic sensors work on a principle similar to radar or sonar which estimates qualities of a target by taking the echoes from radio or sound waves respectively. Sensors calculate the time interval between sending the signal and receiving the echo to determine the distance to an object. Our system consists of ultrasonic sensor radar that rotates constantly at 180 degrees. The radar constantly emits ultrasonic rays and measures reflection. On detecting reflection from any object within its range the radar stops and sends a signal. The radar also sends the angle at which the object was identified. We here use a small ultrasonic transmitter receiver pair. The pair is interfaced with microcontroller to control the circuit working. The microcontroller constantly receives the radar input. On sensing an object the radar sends an alert message to the microcontroller. The microcontroller now gets the data and also gets the radar direction in order to get angle at which object was detected and displays it on the LCD.

Radars can be used in distance measurement, as sonar principle also works on to find the depth level of sea measurement ultrasonic sound can also be used in find the flow of velocity, sound /air used. The techniques that were illustrated were par excellence and can bring about a major change in the field of defence, banking and many more things. The technologies used were not only efficient and reliable but also economically feasible.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Arduino Based Ultrasonic Radar for Unauthorized Object Detection is used for finding an object, navigation based systems and also in security-based system. It operates by radiating electromagnetic energy and detecting the echo returned from reflecting objects (targets). The nature of the echo signal provides information about the target. The range, or distance, to the target is found from the time it takes for the radiated energy to travel to the target and back. Improving the lifestyle by giving the exact position, exact angle as well as velocity of an object (target) and also improving security terms.
