Our Project has a great scope as it can be used to dispose of bombs which otherwise would cause havoc and misery by using Arduino. Our Project can be used in each and every country of the world because each and every country in the world is countering terrorism in one or the other way. No country can be considered safe from a terrorist attack. Bombs are the most commonly used weapons used by the cruel terrorists to achieve their mischievous missions. Therefore, a bomb disposal squad can be useful for to dispose off a bomb because even the countries which were at no risk of terrorism whatsoever have now been seen having a tough time because of that.
Dragon RunnerOne such example is Dragon Runner, a lightweight reconnaissance robot developed by scientists at the Robotics Institute of Carnegie Melon University (CMU), USA. Originally weighing in at just 20lb, Dragon Runner was developed, according to CMU, as a ‘low-cost rugged alternative to overly heavy, bulky, slow and costly robotic scouts already on the market’ and is light enough that it can be carried around in a specially designed backpack and even thrown out of windows, over fences or from moving vehicles. Later upgrades boast an even lighter design and enable Dragon Runner to open doors and climb stairs.
The innovative multi-terrain robot also features high-speed capabilities, is easy to manoeuvre, and can dig around, pick up and even move objects thanks to its manipulator arm. The easy-to-use system requires little formal operator training and can be deployed in under three seconds. Dragon Runner is also able to place small charges in order to disrupt suspect items and can operate in the dark with the aid of onboard infrared capabilities.
The Harris T7More recently, in September, then defence secretary Sir Michael Fallon announced a £55m (~€63m) contract for 56 innovative bomb disposal robots for use by the British Army. The T7 robots, which will be purchased from US robotics manufacturer Harris under the Ministry of Defence’s Project Starter, will be used to support UK EOD missions across the globe, and will also assist with hazardous materials (HAZMAT) clean-up, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), and special weapons and tactics missions.
“With our rising defence budget, we are investing in the latest equipment for our Armed Forces to tackle the growing threats we face,” Sir Michael said. “These state-of-the-art bomb disposal robots will be powerful and reliable companions to our troops on the battlefield, keeping them safe so they can help keep us safe.”
Following are the challenges that we would be facing.
- Working of Wi Fi Module
- Maintenance of motors
- Functioning of Arduino
- Working of cameras
- Bomb Disposal Squads
- Anti Terrorist Squads
- Intelligence Agencies
- General Public as many lives would be saved by our project.
Human lives is becoming more dependent on robotics and the reason behind this is, robots can perform such daily activities with spectacular speed, precision and skill despite the level of difficulty. Robotics technology has already developed so much that, behavioral pattern of human being can be read by them and act according to fulfill that task while the person is not present there . State of the art programming language is deployed on the robots and many advanced electronic devices are working along to increase efficiency in different activities performed by those robots instead of human . Throughout the development in different field of robotics, life threating task like disposing bomb has taken into consideration of research field. Two main aspects of development such robots like-disarmament of bomb with minor direct interaction of human to the bomb and saving crucial evidence of bomb material to trace technology, identifying the developer. Since different civil wars and recent terrorist attack around the world, it has become very risky to law enforcement department to disarm the bomb by hand. Those expert people who usually do this job, they also try to stay away as possible like other human being. A remote means is always required to observe and dispose the bomb.
Therefore, robots are needed in many cases to aid the bomb disposal squads. This is the sole purpose of being involved to this project. A bomb disposal robot can save innumerable lives. It is faster and has arduino as its microcontroller. There is high quality camera for inspection and at the same time it would be connected with a wi fi module. DC and Servo motors are also vital components of it since they will enable the movement of the robot.
