Project Area of Specialization Information & Communication TechnologyProject SummaryArabic is one of the leading Semitic language in the world. The estimated Arabic speaking population in the world is 420 million. Arabic gives impact on vast amount of people according to a study the total population of Muslims around the world is 1.8 billion and it is an official language of six united nation countries. The past few decades have witnessed an increased interest in Arabic natural language processing, and computational morphology. It is difficult to read Arabic for the south Asian people because of lack of knowledge about diacritics (Airaab: zer, zabr, pesh, jazm, tashdeed, tanveen and hamza) then there are 104 million people in the world who speak Urdu. The idea is to develop a web-based application to transliterate Arabic in Urdu with natural language processing. It will assist Urdu users to read Arabic in their native orthography.
Project ObjectivesThe purpose of the proposed project is to provide a web application for transliterate Arabic into Urdu. User will paste the Arabic script and get the transliterate Arabic script in Urdu
Project Implementation MethodIn the proposed project, we will use scrum agile development model of software engineering because our requirements may evolve as the system development progresses. Different natural language processing and machine learning algorithms will be implemented for better and accurate outcomes. Python Programming language will utilize for the development of web application.
Benefits of the ProjectThis project will beneficial for most of the Urdu speaking population of world as they are facing difficulties in understanding Arabic because of diacritics so this application will help
Technical Details of Final DeliverableFinal deliverable of this project is a web-based application, which will provide an interactive user interface to transliterate Arabic script into Urdu with the help of NLP techniques.
