Advance Drive Assistance Systems (ADAS) are systems that help drivers in their driving process can enhance manufacturers’ competitiveness in the market. In the past decade, more emphasis has been placed on using such systems on driverless vehicles. As such, the development of ADAS is highly sought after in the industry. ADAS comprises multiple sub-systems to operate and this project will aim to look into the human detection system for ADAS.
Nowadays, frequent road accidents whether serious or minor accidents occur. But the worst thing in this scenario was there were hard to find who person was guilty and what thing really happened at the accident scene. Things like this often complicate the police and insurance companies in investigating the 'insurance claim' questions. Sometimes such things cause the insurance party to take months to pay compensation to the victim because it is difficult to study and see the real situation of the guilty party.
Project ObjectivesAuto safety is a crucial method for meeting international and national goals and targets for reducing road fatalities.
- All road users are concerned about vehicle safety, which encompasses collision avoidance and injury prevention measures (primary safety), injury reduction in the case of a crash (secondary safety), and aid after a crash (to reduce the consequences of injury).
- Advanced Driver Assistance or Driver Support Technologies (ADAS) and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) have been coined to highlight the increasing usage of electronic and telecommunication technology in the road transportation sector.
According to Grand View Research, Inc., ADAS devices will see significant growth over the next five years. As a result, the use of ADAS products will become more accessible to the general public, however, this may result in a slew of issues. Furthermore, most automakers are still developing their ADAS systems. This is a software-based ADAS that focuses on perception algorithms (object detection, lane line segmentation, and traffic sign classification).
It has three key functions:
- Forward collision warning
- Lane departure warning
- Traffic sign detection and over-speed warning
With this system, every incident that happens involves the vehicle can be better dealt with. Additionally, using these devices and systems can help the authorities in investigating and collecting complete and accurate information to resolve the issue.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableHowever, this project has limited access because it is a software-based system. We will make a module to show the functioning of the ADAS. In the future, after receiving the funding we will make ADAS using Jetson Neno.
