Project Summary

AcnoCure is an android based application, which uses the front camera of mobile phone to detect the acne on face. The main mechanism splits into two parts, in the first for detection, it will use image processing mechanisms with the help of OpenCV. The second part is a decision network that will determine an output based on the features extracted by the first part.   

Project Objectives

The main goal of the project is to facilitate the user with the help of technology to deal with the problems of acne, so that the user will not have to consult with doctor, pay their high fees, and deal with time issues and appointment issues. Users can detect their acne severity level through their smartphones. The users can also get the solution of their acne problems, recommended by professional dermatologists. The main objective of this application is to detect acne using smartphone’s camera. There are different types of acne; our application is to determine the acne type (papules, pustules, cysts etc.). After determining the acne type, the next phase is to determine the severity (level of acne) and also the cause of acne (internal problems, hormone changes).
