A Compact Milli-meter Wave Antenna for 5G Broadband Applications
Nowadays, the tremendous development of the next millimeter-wave (mm-Wave) fth-generation (5G) communication technology and antennas have been highly demanded due to meet the call for low latency, higher data rate, low cost, less usage of energy and supported transfer information for a considerable number of subscribers devices that deal with various applications beyond mobile communications and cellular industry.
Therefore, the spectrum available under millimetre-wave (mm-wave) band is a perfect choice to accomplish the bandwidth requirements and throughput for future 5G mobile applications. However, this advantageous spectrum has few critical limitations such as path loss attenuations, atmospheric absorptions and signal fading. In order to achieve enhanced performance through multi-path fading channels, the above-mentioned losses are needed to be resolved In this project, a design of compact parasitic element loaded radiating system and modified corporate feed array configuration are proposed for 5G mm-wave (Ka-band) applications. The proposed antenna impedance bandwidth and radiation characteristics will be enhanced by employing various bandwidth enhancement mechanisms. The antenna will exhibits good voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) and acceptable gain, The proposed radiator has super wideband bandwidth and it can be a feasible efficient solution for future 5G mobile base station applications.
The objectives of this proposed project are:
Literature review is carried out for gap formulation and objective are set
Creating simulation senarios in simulator. The project is being designed and simulated using the software ANSYS Electronic Desktop.
Latter stages also involves CST microwave studio
The reference design simulations are performed and novel feature in the simulation and improvement of the results.
After achieving the objectives along with optimized results, the sample is prototyped on dielectric material i.e. Roger RT/5880 substrate.
After completing the fabrication process the sample is than forward for measurements in collaborative institutions.
Results are complied in the form of research paper
Millimeter-wave (mm-wave) band is a perfect choice to accomplish the bandwidth requirements and throughput for future 5G mobile applications. The proposed radiating element finds its applications in future 5G mm-wave, 5G mobile communications and super wideband mm-wave communications, 5G base station controlling networks and 5G wideband code division multiple access.
An antenna is designed for mm-wave and it will be resonating on the (ka- band( from 24 GHz to 40 GHz for 5G communication.
The antenna will incorporate wide bandwidth while maintinig rest of the important parameters. Compact antenn design with respect to compartive literature .
